Exploration Results – Agadir Melloul Permit 2024

Introduction

As part of its focused exploration strategy targeting high-potential polymetallic mineralizations, Copernicus Mining Company has undertaken an exploration campaign on the Agadir Melloul permit. This initiative is aligned with a structured approach aimed at enhancing the value of metalliferous resources in the Western High Atlas, in close coordination with national regulatory authorities.

The Agadir Melloul permit is located in the Taroudant Province, within the Western High Atlas massif. This area is geologically recognized for its Precambrian and Paleozoic formations, which are favorable for hosting lead-zinc and silver-type mineralizations. Several historic mining indicators bear witness to past activity, giving this zone particular exploration interest.

The campaign included:

  • Detailed geological mapping at a 1:10,000 scale
  • Structural and lithological surveys
  • Targeted sampling on former mineralized structures
  • Geochemical analysis of 57 representative samples submitted to laboratory testing
  • Preliminary results identified several anomalous zones:

    • Multi-element anomalies including Cu, Pb, Zn, and Ag;
    • Zones of hydrothermal alteration and structural corridors interpreted as favorable for mineral concentration;
    • Prioritization of targets for geophysical follow-up and possible trenching.

    Maps and figures illustrating these findings are available for consultation (interactive formats under preparation for web version).

  • Based on these findings, Copernicus Mining Company plans to undertake:

    • Semi-detailed prospecting to delineate the mineralized extensions
    • Targeted geophysical surveys (resistivity, IP)
    • Drilling campaigns to confirm vertical continuity of identified mineralized structures

    These actions are intended to prepare for an advanced reconnaissance program leading to a technical feasibility study.

Institutional Framework

The exploration works were conducted in full compliance with the Moroccan Mining Code and under certified geological supervision. Copernicus Mining Company operates in coordination with local authorities, respecting environmental standards and its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments.

Conclusion

The exploration work conducted on the Agadir Melloul permit strengthens the geological appeal of the region and validates the targeted approach adopted by Copernicus Mining. This permit now ranks among the company’s top-priority targets for the development of high-value polymetallic projects.
