Progress of the Lead-Silver Project – Permits & Geological Assessment
Introduction
As part of its strategy to enhance the value of critical metals in Morocco, Coppernicus Mining Company is developing the lead-silver project located in the western Anti-Atlas. This initiative is aligned with a sustainable development model based on the responsible exploitation of a high-potential mineral heritage.
The project is located in the Addana region, southern Morocco, within the western Anti-Atlas, a zone well known for its mineral wealth.
- Geological context dominated by Paleozoic formations, mainly silicified sandstones, Ordovician silty clays and sandstones, oriented NE–SW
These formations are favorable for the development of metallic deposits, particularly lead and silver, and are geologically comparable to other recognized metallogenic districts in the Anti-Atlas.
Historical Exploration:
- Review and mapping of previous mining works (trenches, galleries)
- Precise satellite imaging used to locate mineralized zones and key geological structures
Recent Investigations:
- Field reconnaissance and systematic sampling along ferruginous structures
- Targeted studies on Ordovician formations identified as mineralized hosts
- Lead-silver mineralizations clearly identified within silty sandstones and clays
- Sample analysis confirms high-grade lead and silver occurrences
- The site presents conditions favorable to a viable and profitable mining operation.
- 3D geological modeling to refine the extension of identified deposits.
- Metallurgical studies and preliminary feasibility assessments.
- Preparation of applications for extended exploitation licenses if results prove positive.
Conclusion
The project reinforces Coppernicus Mining Company’s strategy to build a portfolio of high-value polymetallic assets in the Moroccan Anti-Atlas. The results obtained to date confirm the viability of the site and pave the way for a phased development aligned with long-term growth and sustainable resource valorization.
