Exploration Progress

Introduction

As part of its exploration roadmap focused on high-potential metalliferous zones in southern Morocco, Copernicus Mining Company has initiated a preliminary evaluation in the High Atlas domain. This initiative aims to assess the site’s silver and polymetallic potential through systematic geological reconnaissance.

This mountainous area presents a varied geological environment characterized by Paleozoic formations, affected by major structural phases. The presence of quartz veins and hydrothermal alterations suggests favorable conditions for metallic mineralization, particularly silver.

The exploration program included:

  • Initial geological reconnaissance and field traverses;
  • Mapping of alteration zones and quartz vein structures;
  • Manual sampling of visible mineralized zones;
  • Petrographic observations and geochemical analyses;
  • Topographic referencing using handheld GPS systems.

The technical team observed several veins and structures showing galena and secondary mineralizations, likely indicators of silver-bearing systems.

  • The fieldwork confirmed the presence of:

    • Silver-bearing quartz veins;
    • Multiple generations of mineralization within faulted and fractured zones;
    • Significant hydrothermal alterations (silicification, chloritization, ferruginization);
    • Initial grab samples showing encouraging indications for follow-up trenching and drilling.

    These elements support the presence of structurally controlled silver and polymetallic mineralization requiring more detailed follow-up exploration.

  • Based on these preliminary results, the following steps are planned:

    • Detailed structural and lithological mapping;
    • Systematic trenching to define continuity and grade of mineralized zones;
    • Geochemical soil surveys over selected anomalies;
    • Planning of scout drilling campaigns in targeted zones.

Institutional Framework

This project is carried out under a valid mining permit granted by the Moroccan Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development. The exploration program is fully compliant with national mining regulations. Copernicus Mining Company reaffirms its commitment to environmental responsibility and constructive engagement with local communities.

Conclusion

The preliminary investigations highlight a geological context conducive to silver mineralization, supported by structural indicators and mineral assemblages observed in the field. These promising findings justify continued exploration in this area, which could strengthen the company’s pipeline of silver-focused projects in southern Morocco.
